“The Post” banned in Lebanon

Recently released in the United States, “The Post” is based on a real story, in which journalists from The Washington Post grappled with the moral dilemma of whether or not to publish the Pentagon Papers – a leaked series of classified government documents detailing U.S. secrets about the Vietnam War.

The movie’s plot bears no connection to Lebanon or the region. Spielberg, however, has long been blacklisted by the Lebanese government – ever since the release of his 1994 film “Schindler’s List.”

Spielberg was also blacklisted by the Arab League’s boycott office after he donated $1 million to Israel during 2006 war between the Jewish state and Lebanon, AFP reported.
